LATIN 1CFUNDAMENTALSBRUSUELAS, J.This is the third quarter of Latin 1A, B, C, We will continue to cover Wheelock\'s Latin, 6th Edition, Frederic M. Wheelock, the required textbook. Instruction and practice is grammar and vocabulary will alternate every week with the reading of Latin passage. Daily homework, weekly quiz, midterm examination. Prerequisite: Latin 1B.
LATIN 102LATIN POETRYCLAXTON, C.In this course, students will be introduced to Latin poetry by reading Book One of Vergil\'s Aeneid. We will pay close attention to accurate translation and grammatical understanding. Students will also learn how to scan dactylic hexameter and will work on increasing their vocabulary. Weekly vocabulary quizzes, two translation tests, and final examination. Prerequisite: Latin 101, equivalent, or permission of instructor.
LATIN 105CMARTIAL & EPIGRAMSUTTON, D.Readings and discussion (in Latin) of Martial\'s epigrams, and, if time permits, some of his latter-day imitators. Grade based on midterm and final examinations and class participation.
