GREEK 1BFUNDAMENTALSCLAXTON, C.This course is a continuation of first-year Greek and we will complete another ten or so units of our beginning textbook, Beginning Classical Greek. Strict attention will be paid to the mastery of forms and syntax and we will also increase our reading skills. Weekly quizzes, midterm and final examinations. Prerequisite: Greek 1A, equivalent, or permission of instructor. This course may be used to satisfy the breadth requirement in language (VI) as well as the School of Humanities' foreign language requirement.

GREEK 104SOPHOCLES' ANTIGONEGIANNOPOULOU, Z.The aim of this course is to read in the original language as much of Sophocles’ masterpiece as possible, with special attention to grammatical peculiarities and syntactical difficulties. Whatever is not covered in class will be read in translation. Students will be responsible for four quizzes, two exams, and a report on various aspects of the play.
