GREEK 104HECUBAHERNANDEZ, A.Greek 104 is an upper division language course designed for students who have completed the first year of Greek language study. In this course, students will read about Hecuba, the Trojan queen, after she has left Troy to begin her life as a slave. In the first weeks of the quarter, students will translate passages focusing on Hecuba’s relationship with her children and the impending loss of her daughter, Polyxena. From there, students will read about Hecuba’s relationship with Polymestor, the king of Thrace, and how their interaction leads her to commit an act of extreme violence.
