Greek 104 is an upper division language course designed for students who have completed the first year of Greek language study. In this course, students will focus on selections from Euripides’ tragedy, Hecuba. The first weeks of the quarter will be spent translating and discussing the sacrifice of the Trojan princess, Polyxena, and the time remaining will be devoted to the acts of revenge committed by the titular character, Hecuba.

Throughout the course of the quarter, students can expect regular translation assignments, (bi)weekly quizzes, a midterm, and a final. Lastly, students who have completed more than 2 years of Greek language study will be asked to complete a separate translation project.
