| KOREAN S1BC | FUNDAMENTALS | LEE, J. | Second half of first-year Korean in an intensified form. The objective of Korean S1AB-BC is to guide students in developing basic Korean language skills. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of written and spoken Korean language. Two textbooks (Korean 1 & practice book: Language Education Institute, Seoul National University) will be used throughout the year. The main textbook aims to develop students’ basic communicative skills in practical, everyday situations whereas the practice book intends to be used in conjunction with the main textbook to complement and to strengthen the acquired vocabulary and grammar in all four areas: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Prerequisite: Korean S1AB or 1B/1KB with a grade of C or better, or placement into 1C/1KC. Korean S1BC overlaps with the second half of Korean 1B and all of Korean 1C during academic year. If a student already received credit for 1B, only 5 units will be awarded for S1BC. Students may not receive credit for both. Enrollment is limited. |
