Overview

The Korean language program, started in 1994 at UCI, offers four levels of Korean from fundamental (First Year Korean) to Advanced level (Fourth Year Korean). All courses are designed to develop or improve the four language skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing. In addition, the program provides students with Korean cultural components by viewing authentic Korean audio-visual materials, creating and presenting their own skits, and researching on the Korean tradition, culture, and society. Students are encouraged to participate in "Annual Lunar Festival" in Winter quarter, and 'Korean Essay Contest and Talent Show' in Spring quarter.
