Studying Abroad
The Religious Studies Program strongly encourages its majors and minors to take advantage of the splendid opportunities that the Education Abroad Program (EAP) offers us to study our subject in countries where religious traditions originated or grew extensively over time. Imagine studying Judaism in Jerusalem, Islam in Cairo, Catholicism in Rome, or Zen Buddhism in Japan. Imagine sharing perspectives on belief in renowned and age-old institutions in places like Granada, Edinburgh, Berlin, Padova, or Delhi. It is easy to find courses in such universities and others that will fit into your major or minor during the sophomore, junior, or senior years. Check out the strategies suggested on the Center for International Education's page, Religious Studies Majors Study Abroad.Secure approval of specific courses in fulfillment of major/minor requirements from the Director of Religious Studies after you return to UC Irvine.
