LARB Publishing Workshop
: Information Session with Tom Lutz and Irene Yoon, LARB

Many of you may be familiar with the Los Angeles Review of Books, aka LARB, a widely-read and influential outlet for literary and cultural criticism. We have long had a great relationship with LARB—faculty across SOH have published and been reviewed there. A number of our PhD alums are also editors, and current graduate students have been involved in LARB’s workshops and internship program.

LARB is also now hosting a summer publication workshop, an intensive 3-week course on book, magazine, and online publishing. If you are interested in public-facing writing, publishing and editing, or alt-ac public humanities work, this workshop should be of great interest to you. The deadline for those who want to be considered for a scholarship to attend is March 1st, and the general deadline is April 1st.

Because LARB is committed to involving UCI students in their programs, the director of the workshop, along with one of the senior editors for the journal, has generously agreed to come here to do an Informational session on LARB’s work and on the workshop on Thursday, February 7th, from 4-5:15pm in HIB 137. All graduate students are welcome to attend.
