Broadcast in HD from London’s West End: Ian McKellen leads Chichester Festival Theatre’s powerful production of King Lear. Receiving five-star reviews for its sell-out run, the play transfers to the West End for a limited season. Jonathan Munby directs this "nuanced and powerful" (The Times) contemporary retelling of Shakespeare’s tender, violent, moving and shocking play.
The UCI Shakespeare Center is hosting a pre-screening discussion and light meal, in the Jade Room at the Barclay, at 5:00pm, featuring Julia Lupton (UCI) and Matt Smith (Azusa Pacific University). Suggested donation for meal: $25.
