Free screening of alumna Erin Gruwell's "Stories from an Undeclared War"

School of Humanities     Nov 1 2017 | 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM Crystal Cove Auditorium

“Stories from an Undeclared War” is an in-depth, behind the scenes look at the events that created the Freedom
Writers. Told from the perspective of Erin Gruwell and her students, “Stories” depicts what happened before, during
and after the Freedom Writers entered Room 203 twenty years ago. Encouraged by Gruwell, her students
discovered a new way to express themselves, and they began to embrace history, humanity, and hope to
change.

Followed by Q&A and book signing with Erin Gruwell and the orginal freedom writers.
