Film Screening & Conversation on "Ixcanul"

We will view and discuss the 2016 Guatemalan film "Ixcanul", a film that centers on transnational indigenous Latina/o identity formation.
The film has a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, won the Alfred Bauer Prize at the 65th Annual Berlin International Film Festival and was the Guatemalan Entry for the "Best Foreign Language Film" at the 88th Annual Academy Awards. 
Following the film we will have a discussion on trans-generational narratives.
