“An Alternative Inauguration: Affirming Our Values, Looking to the Future,” 10:00-12:00, Cross-Cultural Center, Joseph White Room.  Co-Sponsored by  School of Humanities; School of Social Sciences; Asian American Studies Department; Center for Black Cultures, Resources, and Research; Chicano/Latino Studies Department; the Cross-Cultural Center; Gender and Sexuality Studies Department; and the LGBT Resource Center

Please join us for an affirmative, activity-filled, mixer on the 2017 Inauguration Day.  Students, staff, and faculty are welcome to attend:

 to explore and affirm the values that we believe in, and
 discuss how our values can translate into political commitments and policies to create a better, more inclusive and social justice-oriented society. 

Planned activities include:

 small group activities to articulate and share our values
 performative presentations of inspiring speeches from past presidents and political leaders from diverse communities, such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
 authoring and presenting your own inaugural speeches

Pastries, Fruit and Cheese, and Hot and Cold Beverages will be served!
