A talk and Book signing by Mr. Ghobad Fakhimi about Iranian Oil Industry

Please join us on Saturday, October 15, 2016, 4-7 pm in UC Irvine's Jordan Center for Persian Studies Lobby for a book signing and a discussion session on "Thirty Years of Iranian Oil." by Mr. Ghobad Fakhimi.

The author/presenter will provide the reader/attendees with an inside look into the rising oil prices of 1973, impact of Saudi Arabia and Zaki Yamani's efforts to undermine the Shah and Iran in their own "maneuvers" involving OPEC, the "barter" deal which linked the price of Iranian Oil sold to US companies to the value of arms sold to Iran , recently declassified documents showing the role of Donald Rumsfeld in the "barter" agreement and his hostility towards the Shah and Iran, and the general state of NIOC's international affairs division in 1970s.

This event is presented by UC Irvine's Jordan Center for Persian Studies and Culture.
