NOW EN ESPANOL - Film Screening and Q&A with Director

 Film and Media Studies     Jun 1 2016 | 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Humanities Gateway 1070

Independent Chilean-American filmmaker Andrea Meller will be visiting campus on Wednesday, June 1st, to show her film NOW EN ESPAÑOL, about the careers and immigrant experiences of the Latina actresses who dubbed Desperate Housewives into Spanish. Through their moving testimonies, the film demystifies media stereotypes and challenges our image of what American culture looks and sounds like. NOW EN ESPAÑOL originally aired on PBS' "Voces" series and was nominated for an Imagen award in 2015.
