The value of placebo response is increasingly recognized as crucial to healing in most modes of therapeutic practice. As part of the UCI Medical Humanities Works-In-Progress Series, Drama Professor Dr. Anthony Kubiak will discuss the difference between how traditional and mainstream healers engage placebo response. Are the positive effects of traditional healing performances perhaps a deeply intuitive but direct engagement with the placebo response?
