Graduate research slam information and organizational meeting

The Humanities Commons graduate research slam (Friday, May 27, 2016) will feature a series of short presentations by UCI graduate students and postdocs about their dissertations. This event invites participants to share their research with each other and the School in a condensed format that presents the larger arc and aims of their research projects.

Students will prepare for the event by participating in several required training sessions. Final presentations will be video-recorded so that we can share graduate education and research at UCI more broadly. At the slam, each participant will make a 3-5 minute presentation illustrated by 3-5 slides showcasing his or her current research to an audience consisting of fellow graduate students from Humanities and related disciplines, plus faculty, staff, undergraduates, and members of the community.

Students and post-docs who are selected for the program and complete the requirements will receive $250 in Humanities Commons research funds.
