Eli Simon

Chancellor's Professor of Acting Eli Simon has agreed to lead a workshop for graduate students on public speaking using techniques from drama and improv. Professor Simon's work with UCI graduate students has been featuring in the Chronicle of Higher Education, and he frequently runs Power Speech workshops for businesses.

According to Professor Simon's website,

"POWER SPEECH maximizes your ability to speak with confidence, clarity, and power for audiences both large and small. The training takes powerful voice and acting techniques from professional theatre and translates them in very practical terms to the business setting. This detailed and interactive training program enables you to communicate with the full power of your voice and body. The techniques are empowering, accessible, and proven effective."

This free workshop is part of Grad Lab, a series of events supporting graduate student research and professional development. Event is  limited to 25 students. Priority given to School of Humanities graduate students (RSVP before May 1).

Workshop will be followed by a light meal.
