Eduardo Lalo, winner of the prestigious Romulo Gallegos Prize 2013 for his latest novel entitled Simone, is one of the most significant artists and writers working in Puerto Rico today. He is the author of La isla silente (2002), Los pies de San Juan (2002), La inutilidad (2004; 2013), donde (2005), Los países invisibles (2008, Winner of the Premio de Ensayo Juan Gil-Albert-Ciutat de Valencia, 2006), and El deseo del lápiz: castigo, urbanismo, escritura (2010). He has directed the short films donde (2004) and La ciudad perdida (2006). His visual work (photography, film, paintings and installations) has been part of multiple exhibitions.
