Call for Artwork for AHUA Art Show!

 Art History     Feb 10 2014 - Mar 1 2014 | 8:00 AM - 8:00 AM TBA

Dear Art History Undergraduate Association, Friends of Art History,
Faculty and Staff,
The Art History Undergraduate Association (“AHUA”) at UCI Irvine invites you to contribute your artwork to our upcoming exhibition, Infinite Boundaries, an art show to be held on April 10th 2014, composed of artworks made by current students, professors, and our Friends of Art History. The theme, Infinite Boundaries, was inspired by the size and diversity of the UC Irvine student body, which allows us to experience other cultures on an almost daily basis. The AHUA board members will curate the show, which will include all aspects of a real art gallery or museum exhibition, including spatial design and a full artists' catalog.
Please submit a work of art you feel best represents identity. Identity, as a concept, possesses a wide variety of definitions and modes of expression. Your artwork could explore your personal identity or that of your family, friends, community, UC Irvine, the OC; whatever inspires you!
Please RSVP to ahua.uci12@gmail.com by Thursday, February 20, 2014 to reserve your spot and provide a jpeg photo of your submission and the dimensions of the work, along with your full name, the title and the medium by February 27, 2014.
If you would like to include a short paragraph about you or your work for the catalog, please include that with your submission. Please drop off your artwork in our gallery space, which we will soon announce, by Monday, April 7. The opening reception for the show will take place on April 10, 2014.
This exhibition is another part of our ongoing effort to foster a community of art enthusiasts by sponsoring events, workshops, and museum trips. Please keep your eyes out for updates, reminders and invitations, and do not hesitate to contact Franny Acosta (acostaf@uci.edu) or Eli Heller (hellere@uci.edu) with any comments or questions.
Sincerely
Eli Heller
Vice President, Art History Undergraduate Association
