The Department of Asian American Studies invites you to attend a talk by Professor Robert Ku: "What We Talk About When We Talk About Eating Dog"

BIO: Robert Ji-Song Ku is an Associate Professor of Asian American studies at Binghamton University of the State University of New York. He previously chaired the Department of Ethnic Studies at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and directed the Asian American Studies Program at Hunter College of the City University of New York. He is the author of Dubious Gastronomy: The Cultural Politics of Eating Asian in the USA (University of Hawaii Press, 2014) and co-editor of Eating Asian America: A Food Studies Reader (NYU Press, 2013). His writings appear in a wide array of publications, including Amerasia Journal, Journal of Asian American Studies, Asian American Literary Review, Journal of American Drama and Theatre, Gastronomica, and Food and Foodways. His scholarly interests include Asian American studies, food studies, and modern American culture. He is currently working on a book about K-pop and the Korean Wave in the United States. Born in Korea, he grew up in Hawaii. On sabbatical from Binghamton University, he is currently a Scholar Associate of the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles.
