Shahrnush Parsipur’s novella Zanan bedun-e mardan, originally published in Persian in 1990 and subsequently banned in Iran, has been translated into English twice (1998 and 2012). This workshop brings together the author, her English translators, and a doctoral candidate in Comparative Literature whose dissertation focuses on the translations of Parsipur’s novella. They are joined by other translators and scholars of translation studies to discuss the ways in which texts and their translations circulate among readers.
