Join us for an interview and presentation with Solomon Volkov and Joseph Horowitz on Dmitri Shostakovich. Solomon Volkov is the author of Testimony: The Memoirs of Dmitri Shostakovich, a study of Stalin’s cultural dictatorship over the
arts. The presentations will touch upon the idea of the artist as moral spokesperson during Stalin’s regime and what this idea means for Shostakovich’s music.
