 Office of the Dean     Jan 27 2014 | 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM Humanities Gateway 1030

Join us for a talk on the newly-published book by Archbishop Sergius Hasan-Jalaliants, A History of the Land of Artsakh. This book, translated into English by Ka’ren Ketendjian, edited and with an introduction by Robert H. Hewsen, was written in the first quarter of the 19th century and continues the work of his earlier relative Isaiah (Esai) Hasan-Jalaliants, in presenting the history of Karabagh (which the author refers to as the “land of Aghuank”) in the period of the Armeno-Persian and Russo-Persian wars (1722-1827), a crucial period in the history of the region.
