The Annual Meeting and Conference of the Society for U.S. Intellectual History will be held from November 1-3, 2013 at the University of California, Irvine. This year's conference theme, "Geographies of Ideas," highlights the importance of place in the forging of ideas and
intellectual communities, as well as the numerous border crossings--geographic, disciplinary, and theoretical--that are constitutive of developments within intellectual history. In addition to forty panels on a wide range of topics, this year's conference features a keynote address by David Hollinger, Preston Hotchkis Professor of American History at the University of California-Berkeley and two plenary sessions, "Conservatism and Intellectual History: Pasts and Futures" and "The United States and the World: Intellectual Histories of American Foreign Relations."

Allison Perlman, Assistant Professor in the Departments of History and Film and Media Studies, is the conference chair and lead organizer for this event.
