Jon Wiener is a contributing editor to The Nation magazine and teaches 20th century US history at UC Irvine. He is the author of I Told You So: Gore Vidal Talks Politics Interviews with Jon Wiener, Historians in Trouble and Professors, Politics and Pop. His 2000 book Gimme Some Truth: The John Lennon FBI Files, chronicles his suit against the FBI to obtain their files on John Lennon. Wiener’s articles have appeared in the New York Times Magazine, Los Angeles Times, and The New Republic. Since 1999, he has hosted "The Four O'Clock Report," an afternoon drive-time interview show on KPFK. He’s a regular guest and moderator at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, and appeared in the L.A. Public Library ALOUD series.

Please join us to hear Jon Wiener discuss his book, How We Forgot the Cold War: A Historical Journey Across America, a travelogue of visits to sites across the US (plus one in Cuba and one in Grenada) where the Cold War is publicly commemorated.
