Professor Timalsina, Associate Professor of Religious Studies at San Diego State University, has his Masters degree in Sanskrit from Sampurnananda Sanskrit University (the traditional Sanskrit University), in Banaras, India and received his Ph.D. from Martin Luther University in Halle, Germany. He is the author of two recent books, Seeing and Appearance (Aachen: Shaker Verlag, 2006) and Consciousness in Indian Philosophy (Routledge, 2009). He specializes Indian Philosophy, Tantric studies, Yoga, and Ritual Studies. He is currently working on a third book on "Memory and Imagination."
