A message from the Dean Designate about Upcoming Auction to benefit UCI School of Humanities:

 Art History     Nov 28 2012 - Dec 6 2012 | 8:00 AM - 8:00 AM Guernsey's auction house at 1016 Madison Avenue

Dear Friend of Art History at the University of California at Irvine,

I thought you might like to know about an extraordinary auction coming up on December 5, 2012 at Guernsey's auction house at 1016 Madison Avenue. It is filled with significant Americana in the fields of American paintings, color plates books, maps, atlases, natural history watercolors and globes.

The consignor to the sale, Graham Arader, has offered to give our School of Humanities 10% of the hammer in cash and 15% as a credit for acquisitions from him for any lots purchased in this sale where the buyers designate either the UCI Friends of Art History ("FOAH") or UCI School of Humanities Innovation Fund as the beneficiary! There is $20 million of artwork in this sale, so the potential for us is $5 million in gifts.

Most lots have no reserves so the potential is also for you to get some bargains! Everything is on view at 1016 Madison Avenue in New York City. This is the link to the Live Auctioneers site:

Thank you for considering this suggestion. If you would like a printed catalog, please email your request, including your name and address, to Graham Arader at grahamarader@gmail.com and one will be Federal Expressed directly to you.

Best wishes,

Georges Van Den Abbeele
