Ester Hernandez, Ph.D.
Associate Professor of Chicano Studies
California State University, Los Angeles

Her research focuses on gendered (im)migration, citizenship and policy. She
currently serves on the executive board of CHIRLA Coalition for Humane
Immigrants Rights of Los Angeles and the Mujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio
Social (MALCS). Born in El Salvador, she calls Southern California “home.”
