Erin Gruwell will share her motivational story, as portrayed in the book, The Freedom Writers Diary - How a Teacher and 150 Teens Used Writing To Change Themselves and the World Around Them. The focus of the presentation will be on overcoming hardships and creating positive change from within, and how her leadership experience as a UC Irvine undergraduate helped to prepare her to become a catalyst for change. Her lecture will be held in Crystal Cove Auditorium with a book signing to follow.
