What?
In recent years, the legacies of slavery and colonialism have become contested terrains in France. They are used to question the national republican narrative, to show its strategies of exclusion, and the reconfiguration of a republican colonialism and of a civilizing mission. Françoise Vergès will explore these issues looking from Hexagonal France and the overseas territories.
