 Gender and Sexuality Studies     Feb 8 2012 | 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM 1010 Humanties Gateway

Introduction by Professor Tom Boellstorff,
Professor of Anthropology.

Kathy Huang, Director/Producer, will be present for Q&A.

The feature film follows a community of transgender women in Indonesia, the world's largest Muslim country, as they search for romance and intimacy. Shot over the course of three years with the help of the local transgender community, the film is a rare glimpse into a world that challenges our notions of gender, Islam, and love.

The film was co-produced by the Independent Television Service (ITVS) with assistance from the Center for Asian American Media (CAAM).

Co-sponsored by the Center for Asian Studies, and The Department of Anthropology
