Getting here

Freeway directions to UCI.

Parking information.

The conference will take place in Humanities Instructional Building (HIB) 135. This is building 601 on the campus map (quadrant E6).

Reception and dinner Friday, Saturday and Sunday take place in Humanities Instructional Building (HIB) 137. This is building 601 on the campus map (quadrant E6).

The exhibition will be at the Beall Center for Art and Technology. This is building 712 on the campus map (quadrant D5).

For people arriving by plane, the nearest airport is Orange County Airport (SNA) (It's also called John Wayne Airport), which is less than a ten minute taxi ride from campus. The nearest international airport is Los Angeles (LAX), which is about an hour's drive from campus (but beware of freeway traffic at rush hour). You can get shuttle service to campus, or a shuttle to Orange County Airport and a taxi from there.

Staying here

We have made arrangments with the atrium hotel where you can ask for the "UCI rate" ($84 plus tax per night, single or double, no breakfast). They have a free shuttle which can be arranged to pick up and drop off guests at the campus.

Here are some links for people considering a longer trip to the UC Irvine area. Possibilities include the urban pleasures of Los Angeles, in which case flying in and out of LAX is recommended. For those seeking sun and fun, trips to the nearby Laguna Beach, or even a train trip to San Diego may be the ticket. For these trips, flying into Irvine/Orange County and perhaps even departing from San Diego could be recommended. Check out these links for some ideas about R&R in the surrounding areas of UCI.
