Jasmin Pannier ‘17
Jasmin accepted a position as a Gallery Director at
WorkWell OC, a work share start-up in Irvine, that recently opened its doors for business. Jasmin was hired to collaborate with artists and create a unique venue where art and ideas can flourish. She is currently working on finding street artists to paint murals on the building and artists to exhibit their art in the gallery space and is mentoring a FOAH intern. She looks forward to hosting FOAH and AHUA events!
Jasmin assisted street artist
James Thistlethwaite (one of the artists featured in
AHUA's “Transcending Limits” exhibition) in Laguna Beach in making a new mural in Laguna canyon as part of the Summer of Color initiative. “Aya” is made entirely with graphite and is the largest hand drawn mural in the U.S.
Jasmin writes ‘It
was an amazing experience to see how he pushed the limits of street art materiality.’ Jasmin’s academic career focused on the life of artworks after they were finished and found the ‘opportunity to be there while the mural was made and put up, completely changed her perspective about writing about art.’ Her experience led her to a teaching job at the
Laguna College of Art & Design.Adriana Romo ‘17
