A major in Global Middle East Studies provides students with a number of opportunities in terms of both graduate education and careers in both the public and private sectors. Graduate studies might include degrees in international business with a focus on the Middle East and African markets; degrees in international law and/or policy with an understanding of the Middle East and Africa with regard to legal issues related to business, security, immigration, religion; or further graduate specialization and research related to the Middle East, Africa, South and Southeast Asia, Diaspora studies, water and resource management and other fields related to the environment, climate change and development studies, whether through an area studies program or within a discipline (e.g., History, Classics, Political Science, Cultural Studies).
