Faculty Resources

For UCI faculty members who wish to improve their own English

Center for Engaged Instruction: This site contains the teaching resources.

The International Center: This site provides additional information that might help you. For example, this center offers the English Corner, a conversational program that is a great way to meet new people and improve conversational skills. Please bring your friends and join us! Meetings are EVERY Monday from 5:30-6:30pm at the International Center.

The Graduate Resource Center: If you are a postdoctoral scholar, you can also take advantage of the Graduate Resource Center that sponsors tutorials and writing workshops. UC Irvine’s Graduate Resource Center exists to enrich the experiences of our graduate and postdoc community by providing coordinated services, events, programs, information and support. The GRC also serves as a meeting place for students to relax, interact with other students, plan events, share ideas, network and develop friendly relationships.

Other places you might find additional campus resources include:

UCI LIBRARIES: UCI has two main libraries—the Langston Library and the Ayala Science Library. Both offer extensive online resources and services including access to top databases, computing services, and support and information from subject librarians.

Humanities Studio: The Humanities Studio has a drop-in computer lab and a language lab.  The SPEAK and TSE tests at UCI are given in the Humanities Studio.  A list of the materials available in the lab can be found here.

Campus Writing Coordinator: Jonathan Alexander, the Campus Writing Coordinator offers consultations, workshops, and resources to faculty, lecturers, and TAs in every discipline.
