Students intending to enroll in a Chinese language class at UCI for the first time must first complete an online placement assessment at https://www.humanities.uci.edu/placement/chinese
Look for further instructions in the closing message when you submit the online assessment.

For students who complete placement tests, oral interviews (one-on-one speaking test) will be offered from 12:30-1:30pm on Thursday, May 5, in HIB-448. It is on a walk-in basis and no appointment is necessary. Be sure to bring the test results with you. Your web registration restriction will be removed after the interview

Korean:
After the test, appear for a Faculty Oral Interview to get your placement and obtain authorization to register for Korean class. Interview is offered on Thursday, May 12th, 10:00am-12:00pm at HIB 375. The oral interview will be conducted on the first-come-first-served basis. Be sure to bring your language background survey form and your student ID card with you at the time of the interview.
