Event Details

On April 22, 2015 the Medical Humanities Initiative sponsored Dance professor Dr. Kelli Sharp in the University Club to explain how dance (and all of its components including human touch) and science can work together to improve the lives of individuals with neurological disorders. This talk was well-attended by faculty and students from every school of campus, many of who gave Dr. Sharp feedback on their own experiences with the relationship between dance, music, and illness. This lecture was a part of the Medical Humanities Initiative’s Works-in-Progress series, where faculty from around campus have the opportunity to showcase their research projects dealing with the intersection of medicine, arts, and the humanities to an interdisciplinary audience.
