Support UCI Jordan Center for Persian Studies & Culture
A Message from Professor Touraj Daryaee, Director of UCI Jordan Center for Persian Studies & Culture
Dear Friends of UCI Jordan Center for Persian Studies & Culture,Despite the challenges the year 2020 has brought us all, UCI Jordan Center for Persian Studies & Culture has remained firm in its mission, offering a wide range of courses and continuing with our public programming—for the time being, online. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to offer various remote lectures and talks such as “The Iranian-American Diaspora and the Black Lives Matter Movement”, “Panel Discussion on Iranian Women in Academia”, and online screenings of documentaries such as “COUP 53” and “Nasrin. The impact that we make, on campus and beyond, is made possible through your generosity—for that, I am grateful.
We ask you to join us in our pursuit of excellence by donating to the UCI Jordan Center for Persian Studies & Culture. These gifts are invaluable; they allow our students to truly reach their full academic potential in numerous ways. Your donation will support both undergraduate and graduate awards, research grants, and other learning opportunities that expand our students’ horizons beyond the classroom.
As conventional streams of federal and state funding have diminished, some of our most prized programs and scholarship are only possible due to private support. Thanks to the generosity of our community of alumni and friends like you, we hope to increase our impact on current UCI Jordan Center for Persian Studies & Culture’s students over the next year – you can learn more about the work we’re doing by visiting our website!
Finally, for those who are able, I encourage you to make a contribution of $1,000 or more to the UCI Jordan Center for Persian Studies & Culture to join Friends of Humanities, a leadership society of donors who help the School of Humanities achieve its educational goals. Support from Friends of Humanities is crucial in allowing our students to pursue their academic careers with passion and diligence, while assisting them in minimizing the financial burden of attending university. Your gift to the UCI Jordan Center for Persian Studies & Culture is eligible for this membership. For details regarding membership and benefits, see our Friends of Humanities webpage.
