ASIANAM 134ASAM PUBLIC HEALTHFU, L.Drawing on the interdisciplinary fields of public health and Asian American and Pacific Islander studies, this course examines the major issues and influences that impact Asian American and Pacific Islander (API) health in the United States. By the end of the course, students will have a deeper understanding of public health issues including reproductive justice, violence against women, access to health care, and environmental justice. The course also explores the various approaches and strategies to addressing these issues in a way that creates and supports social change, including health education, community organizing, art, direct service, community based research and policy advocacy.
