Prof. Dr. Vittoria Borsò is Professor of Romance Literatures (French, Spanish, Latin
American- and Italian Literature) at the Heinrich Heine University, Düsseldorf.
Research Fellow, Alexander-von-Humboldt Foundation, at Rice University,
Houston, and the University of Texas at Austin (1985-1986). Since 2007, she is
member of the Board of Trustees at Heinrich Heine University. Director of the
graduate program "Interculturality and Communication", in cooperation with the
University of Trieste; and of the graduate program "European Cultural Studies",
with the University of Palermo, Italy. She is also a member of the UC Research
Group on Cultural and Mexican Studies. Last publications: das andere denken,
schreiben, sehen (The other thinking, writing, seeing), with an introduction by
Bernhard Waldenfeld (Bielefeld: transcript, 2008);  Benjamin - Agamben. Politics,
Messianism, Kabbalah (Würzburg: Königshausen & Neumann, 2010), with Claas
Morgenroth / Karl Solibakke / Bernd Witte. Her main fields of research: Modernity,
Aesthetics, Media Theory and Visual Culture
