• I'm only interested in completing a master's degree at UCI. Is that possible?
We only offer a terminal master's degree through the Summer M.A. Program.
• How many students apply? How many are admitted?
We receive approximately 200 applications and typically enroll 10-12 new graduate students each year.
• May I submit more than 3 letters of recommendation?
Please request three letters of recommendation from those who know you and your work best. Additional letters of recommendation rarely enhance your application.

No, we only require unofficial transcripts from each undergraduate and graduate institution previously attended to be uploaded to the online application.

• What are the requirements for the Statement of Purpose?
There are no specific page lengths or formatting requirements for the Statement of Purpose. Your statement is an opportunity to explain your reasons for pursuing graduate study and how your academic interests relate to your professional goals.
• When do my GRE scores need to be submitted?
The GRE section of the application should be left blank, as it is not a requirement for Fall 2021 admission.
• Is the January 5th application deadline a postmark deadline?
Yes, all application materials postmarked January 5 or earlier will be accepted.
