Join the Critical Theory Emphasis for two papers that raise questions about the
theoretical underpinnings of LatinX, with a focus on Latino/a/x, in particular.

Rodrigo Lazo, Professor of English, and Christopher Varela, Graduate Student in English, will each present a work-in-progress, putting them into dialog with one another.

Professor Lazo will present, "Spanish-Signaling and the X: How Herman Carroll Became Hache Carrillo."

Christopher Varela will present, "This Bridge Called Our Education: Chicana Feminism, Intersectionality and the University."
