Event Details

On Wednesday, April 24, UCI will be celebrating Giving Day, an online one-day fundraiser for the campus. In the School of Humanities, we are raising support for the Department of Asian American Studies!

Visit our Asian American Studies UCI Giving Day site to make a contribution and learn more about the department!

To learn more about each funding area, I invite you to watch our Giving Day video in which Dean Tyrus Miller explains how support of these areas makes a difference to students.

While raising financial support is one goal of Giving Day, another goal is increasing UCI’s rankings. Alumni giving is one of the factors that U.S. News and World Report considers when making its calculations. So even alumni gifts of $1 will serve a valuable role on Giving Day.

I invite you all to participate! Here are some of the ways you can do so:

Become an ambassador – As an ambassador, you can use your network to spread the word about Giving Day. You can do as little or as much as you’d like, from sending emails to your friends, family and colleagues, to sharing on social media. You will receive a personalized link that allows you to track how many gifts your efforts result in. Interested? Sign-up on the right-hand side of our Giving Day page.

Share our social media posts – Leading up to the event, and especially during Giving Day, we will be sharing posts on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. Please like and share those posts. You can also follow the hashtag #UCIGivingDay, which will compile all social media posts related to Giving Day in one spot. Want to write your own social media posts? Tag us! Let us know why the humanities matter to you. Whether you’d like to tell others why you made a gift, or thank those who did, you can use these printable PDFs to share your story on social media.

Make a gift – No matter the size, your support matters.
